The print is a modern reinterpretation of the Renaissance painting Saint George and the Dragon by Paolo Uccello, created around 1470.
Warhol's version uses bold, Pop Art colors, in contrast to the original painting's more realistic tones.
The original painting, housed in the National Gallery in London, depicts Saint George on a horse slaying a dragon while a princess holds the dragon on a leash.
