Fête Galante (Scenes of Gallantry) by Joan Miró. The work is an etching and aquatint with knife scrapes on Arches paper, created in 1981. It is hand-signed in pencil by Miró in the lower right and is part of a limited edition of 50. The print was created in Paris and published by Maeght, Paris.
Joan Miró was a Spanish artist and a key figure in the 20th-century avant-garde art movements, known for his work in Surrealism and automatism. "Fête galante" is a term originally created by the French Academy in 1717 to describe paintings of elegantly dressed people in a parkland setting engaged in courtship.
