Young Frankenstein
One Sheet on board, Young Frankenstein
is a 1974 American comedy horror film directed by Mel Brooks and co-written by Brooks and Gene Wilder. The movie is a parody of classic Universal horror films, particularly the 1931 film Frankenstein.
Synopsis
The film centers on Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, a respected American neurosurgeon who is the grandson of the infamous Dr. Victor Frankenstein. Frederick attempts to distance himself from his family's notorious reputation by insisting his name be pronounced "Fronk-en-steen". After inheriting his grandfather's castle in Transylvania, he discovers his ancestor's private laboratory and a book detailing his experiments. Intrigued, he attempts to reanimate a corpse with the help of his hunchbacked assistant Igor, a beautiful lab assistant named Inga, and the mysterious housekeeper Frau Blücher
