White Stag Flags
Halfsheet, White Stag
is a brand of sportswear that originated in Portland, Oregon, in the early 20th century. The company began as the Hirsch-Weis Manufacturing Company, which produced outdoor gear for loggers and mill workers. In 1929, Harold S. Hirsch, the son of one of the founders, began designing ski apparel and named the line "White Stag," a literal English translation of the family names "Weis" and "Hirsch".
The White Stag skiwear brand quickly became popular, and the company later changed its name to White Stag Manufacturing Company. In 1966, the company was acquired by the Warner Brothers Company, which became the Warnaco Group. The brand's trademark was eventually sold to Walmart in 2003, where it was used for a line of women's casual clothing.
The image provided appears to be a vintage ski poster from the brand's heyday, likely from the 1970s. The image depicts a skier on a slope with the White Stag logo and several national flags, which were often featured in their advertising.
