Spiderman Vs Child Abuse
Sign, This image shows a promotional poster
for a special section in The Chronicle newspaper featuring a campaign with Spider-Man against child abuse. The poster features classic Spider-Man artwork and the text "The Amazing Spider-Man vs. Child Abuse: A Special Section Sunday, April 10 The Chronicle". The poster is a promotional piece from 1988 for The Houston Chronicle newspaper and was a collaboration with Foley's department store.
Other comic-based campaigns for the prevention of child abuse also existed, including a 1987 giveaway comic sponsored by 7-Eleven and the National Committee for the Prevention of Child Abuse. That particular campaign included a story where Spider-Man addresses a young abuse victim, revealing that he was also abused as a child.
