The trio helps the singers, Rosa and Ricardo, achieve success in America while humiliating their snobbish rivals. The plot includes the famous "stateroom scene," where numerous people crowd into a tiny cabin on a ship.
Significance: This was the first Marx Brothers film made for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) after leaving Paramount Pictures, and the first without their brother Zeppo. The film was a major box office success and is considered one of their all-time classics. It was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 1993.
