Album Art: The cover art for the single is a variation of the art for their 1977 album News of the World. It was created by science fiction illustrator Frank Kelly Freas, based on his 1953 cover for Astounding Science Fiction. Queen drummer Roger Taylor, a sci-fi fan, saw the original artwork of a robot holding a dead man and commissioned Freas to adapt it for the album by replacing the man with the four band members.
The Single: The songs "We Are the Champions" and "We Will Rock You" were released together as a double-A-side single in 1977. They are often played consecutively and have become popular stadium anthems at sports events worldwide.
