Poster and Product Details

Artist: The poster was designed by Robert Wolff (Robys), whose works were prominent in the 1930s and 1940s in an Art Deco style.
Product: Kina Lillet was a French aperitif wine made from a blend of Bordeaux wines, quinine, and fruit liqueurs, and it was first created in 1887 by the Lillet brothers.
History: The original Kina Lillet had a quinine-forward, distinctly bitter flavor, in part due to quinine's historical use as a medicinal tonic for malaria prevention.
Reformulation: In 1986, the formula was changed to suit international tastes, removing most of the quinine to create a fruitier, less bitter aperitif now known simply as Lillet Blanc.
Cultural Reference: The original Kina Lillet is famous for being the drink of choice for James Bond in Ian Fleming's novel Casino Royale, where he invents the "Vesper" cocktail.
