is a 1983 biographical drama film written and directed by Bob Fosse, based on the tragic true story of model and actress Dorothy Stratten. The film was adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning Village Voice article "Death of a Playmate" by Teresa Carpenter.

Plot The movie chronicles the life of Canadian Playboy Playmate of the Year Dorothy Stratten, her rise to fame, and her tragic murder by her estranged, small-time hustler husband, Paul Snider.
Cast Mariel Hemingway stars as Dorothy Stratten, and Eric Roberts plays Paul Snider, a role for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination. Cliff Robertson portrays Playboy magnate Hugh Hefner, and Carroll Baker plays Dorothy's mother.
Awards and Recognition The film was nominated for eight Academy Awards in 1984 and one Golden Globe award for Eric Roberts' performance. It was also screened out of competition at the 34th Berlin International Film Festival.
