Questor Grandprix
One sheet poster is for the
1971 Questor Grand Prix, an historical, one-off auto race held at the Ontario Motor Speedway in California. The event was a unique "Battle of Two Worlds," pitting European Formula One cars against American Formula 5000 cars on a combined oval and infield road course.
Event Details

Date: March 28, 1971
Location: Ontario Motor Speedway, Ontario, California
Winner: The overall winner of the race was Mario Andretti, driving a Ferrari 312B.
Format: Due to different fuel tank capacities, the race was run in two heats of 32 laps each, with the final result determined by a points system. Andretti won both heats convincingly.
Significance: The race was a non-championship event intended as a trial run for a potential second US Grand Prix, but financial issues meant it was never repeated.

Poster Information

Artist: The artwork for the poster was created by Dale W. King.
