Hermes
One sheet vintage
BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation) advertising poster for the Handley Page Hermes airliner. The aircraft, with registration G-ALDA, is described in the poster as "an aircraft type in the Speedbird Fleet".
Aircraft Details

Aircraft Type: Handley Page HP.81 Hermes IV, a low-wing monoplane powered by four Bristol Hercules piston engines.
Airline Service: The Hermes IV entered service with BOAC on August 6, 1950, primarily on routes to West and South Africa.
Capacity: The aircraft was designed to carry between 40 and 82 passengers, depending on the seating configuration. The interior cutaway in the poster shows separate forward and aft cabins, a crew area, and various facilities including toilets and dressing rooms.
"Speedbird": This name was the iconic call sign for BOAC's international flights, a practice that British Airways continues to this day.
Fate of G-ALDA: The specific aircraft shown in the poster, G-ALDA, was eventually the last operational civil Hermes. It was retired and scrapped in December 1964.
