Ben Franklin
Concert Poster for a Grateful Dead and Quicksilver Messenger Service show. The show was held at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco, CA, on January 17, 1968, which was Benjamin Franklin's 262nd birthday.
The poster was designed by a Hells Angel and friend of the band named Gut (Allen Turk), who used an image of Benjamin Franklin in the style of a hundred-dollar bill as the central motif. The concert is historically significant because the Grateful Dead debuted the songs "China Cat Sunflower" and "The Eleven" during their performance that night.
