Small one sheet Intourist vintage travel poster, likely from around
1955, advertises tourism to the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). It was created for Intourist, the official Soviet state travel agency founded in 1929 to manage foreign visitors. The text "VISITEZ L'URSS" is French for "Visit the USSR".
The poster features a montage of different scenes from across the Soviet Union to showcase the diversity of available destinations to a Western audience. These include:

Moscow: The top panel features iconic landmarks like the Kremlin walls and St. Basil's Cathedral.
Central Asia/Caucasus: The second panel from the top shows people resting outdoors near architectural landmarks, likely a scene from a southern republic.
Leningrad (St. Petersburg): The third panel appears to show the Saint Isaac's Cathedral dome and surrounding cityscape.
Black Sea Resorts: The bottom panel depicts a tropical beach scene with palm trees and a parasol, advertising resorts in areas like the Crimea or Sochi.

This style of travel poster was designed to mimic Western Art Deco aesthetics, which was a deliberate choice to appeal to foreigners, differing from the typical propaganda style used internally within the USSR at the time. The posters were displayed in Intourist offices and embassies worldwide to attract tourists.
