Expedition Details
Objective: Cameron was originally sent by the Royal Geographical Society in a relief expedition for Dr. David Livingstone. After learning of Livingstone's death, he continued with an expedition of geographical exploration.

Significance: Upon his return to England in 1876, Cameron was widely acclaimed and became a Companion of the Bath (CB) and received the Founder's Medal of the Royal Geographical Society.
