London Olympics
Antikbar One sheet official poster for the 1948 London Olympic Games, which were held from July 29 to August 14, 1948. The iconic design was created by German-born artist Walter Herz.
The design combines elements representing both the ancient origins of the games and the host city:

Discobolus Statue: In the foreground is a drawing of the ancient Greek statue, the Discobolus (discus thrower), symbolizing the ancient athletic spirit.
Houses of Parliament & Big Ben: The background features the Houses of Parliament and the famous Big Ben clock tower, which had its hands pointing to 4 o'clock, the planned time of the opening ceremony.
Olympic Rings: The five colored Olympic rings are displayed prominently in the foreground.

Approximately 100,000 copies of the official poster were printed and distributed freely across Great Britain to promote the first Olympic Games held after World War II.
