"The Golden Arrow" all-Pullman train service between London, Calais, and Paris. The service was a luxurious "boat-train" experience where passengers took a train to the coast, a dedicated ferry across the English Channel, and another train to their final destination.
The Golden Arrow Service
Service Launched: The French Flèche d'Or service launched in 1926, and the integrated "Golden Arrow" service was fully introduced by the British Southern Railway in May 1929.
Route: The journey involved a train from London Victoria to Dover, a ferry crossing to Calais, and a connecting French train to Paris Gare du Nord.
Luxury Travel: It was a first-class-only service at its launch, utilizing luxurious Pullman cars known for their fine dining and elegant interiors. A dedicated first-class ferry, the TSS Canterbury, was built to connect the two train segments.
Poster Details: The poster in the image was designed by artist William Spencer Bagdatopoulos (1888-1965) around 1926 and printed using the Sungravure process.
Service End: The Golden Arrow service was suspended during World War II and, due to the rise of air travel, the last full service ran on September 30, 1972.

If it has relied on significant evaluation assistance from any individual or individuals in the performance of this evaluation or the appropriation of this evaluation report, PM-LAPG has named such individuals and disclosed the specific task performed in this evaluation report. PM-LAPG certifies that any individual so named is qualified to the same extent as PM to perform the task. PM-LAPG has not authorized anyone to make a change to any item in this evaluation report, therefore, any change made to this evaluation is unauthorized and PM-LAPG will not take responsibility for it.
VI) The Client may not disclose or distribute this Evaluation Report to any potential purchasers of the subject property without first obtaining PM-LAPG's prior written consent. This consent must be obtained before this evaluation report may be disclosed or distributed to any other party, including, but not limited to, the public through advertising, public relations, news, sales, or other media.
