Synopsis: The story, a loose reworking of Ingmar Bergman's 1960 film The Virgin Spring, follows two teenage girls who are kidnapped and brutally assaulted by a gang of escaped convicts. In a grim coincidence, the criminals seek refuge at the nearby home of one of the victim's parents. When the parents discover the truth about their guests, they exact a brutal and bloody revenge.
Controversy: The film was highly controversial upon its release due to its graphic, raw, and documentary-style depiction of violence, including rape and murder. Its tagline, featured prominently on the poster, was "To avoid fainting keep repeating, it's only a movie... only a movie... only a movie..."
