Antikbar original vintage travel poster for the
Belgian Congo, estimated to be from the 1930s. The poster was issued by the Belgian Colonial Tourist Office (Office du Tourisme Colonial Belge).
Poster Details

Artist: The artwork is attributed to the Belgian artist Jean van Noten (1903–1982).
Imagery: The poster features a vibrant and lush jungle landscape scene opening onto a valley with a lake, above which an airplane is flying.
Text: It simply carries the message "CONGO" at the bottom, with smaller text at the top and bottom including the office's address in Brussels ("183. RUE DE LA LOI BRUXELLES") and the artist's name ("J. VAN NOTEN").
Purpose: These posters were used as promotional material to encourage travel and tourism to the Belgian Congo colony.
