Le Mont Revard
Antikbar Previously backed one sheet famous
vintage travel poster for Le Mont Revard ski resort in the French Alps, created by the French illustrator Roger Broders. The original poster was published in 1927 to promote the Grand Hôtel PLM.
Poster Details

Artist: Roger Broders (1883-1953), known for his distinctive Art Deco travel posters.
Location: Mont Revard, near Aix-les-Bains in the Savoie region of France, at an altitude of 1550 meters.
Commissioned by: The Paris Lyon Méditerranée (PLM) railway company, which developed the area and owned the hotel. Broders was commissioned to create many posters for the company during the "golden age of rail tourism".
Hotel History: The PLM Company purchased land and chalets in 1923 and combined them to form the Grand Hôtel, which opened in 1925. To access it, tourists would take a train to Aix-les-Bains and then a cog railway up the mountain.
Style: The poster is a classic example of the Art Deco style, featuring simple lines, bold flat areas of color, and a dynamic graphical perspective.
Status: Original vintage posters are highly sought after by collectors and fetch high prices at auction, while many reproductions are also available for sale. The hotel itself was demolished in the mid-1950s.
