La Motosacoche
Attraction size motorcycle poster original vintage poster advertising the "Motosacoche", a Swiss-made clip-on bicycle engine invented by brothers Henri and Armand Dufaux in 1899. The name "Motosacoche" literally means "engine in a bag" in reference to the compact, self-contained power unit that could be bolted onto any standard bicycle frame.
The company, H.& A. Dufaux & Cie, was established in Geneva, Switzerland.
The high quality and practicality of the invention quickly gained international recognition, leading to the establishment of factories in other countries like Italy and France.
The engines were also supplied to other major European motorcycle manufacturers, including Royal Enfield, Triumph, and Matchless.
The poster itself was printed by Affiches Atar in Geneva.
