The Blues Brothers #2
Concert poster for
The Blues Project and The Great Society performing at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco on April 22-23, 1966.
The poster is historically significant as it was the first Family Dog Productions concert held at the Avalon Ballroom and the first Family Dog poster to use full color. It is identified as FD-5 in the Family Dog series. The iconic design was created by Wes Wilson, often called the "father of psychedelic posters," who used a photograph of a Native American man in a top hat as the central image. The text on the image, "May the baby Jesus shut your mouth and open your mind," is the famous Family Dog motto that debuted on this poster.
