About the Artwork
In this print, Dalí applies his unique surrealist vision to the city of San Francisco. The piece features a prominent, somewhat distorted, power or telephone pole on Telegraph Hill, using the literal subject matter to play on the location's name. The composition combines precise etching and drypoint lines with splashes of vivid color, such as the pinks and yellows near the base and the turquoise in the upper clouds. The style captures the feeling of a "child-like fantasy" that is both "unnerving in its accuracy" and dream-haunted, characteristic of Dalí's work.
This print is a limited edition piece, usually signed and numbered by the artist in pencil.
