Small panel
Victory Liberty Loan banner from the World War I era, likely printed around 1919 to support the fifth and final national bond campaign.
Poster Details

Purpose: The banner was part of a post-war effort to raise funds to cover the immense costs of World War I, including bringing troops home and caring for the wounded.
Symbolism:
The "V": In this context, the bold central "V" stands for Victory, celebrating the Allied success.
The Figures: A United States soldier (left) and sailor (right) in full military uniform flank the "INVEST" text, representing the collaborative effort of the armed forces.
Origins: The poster was printed by the U.S. Printing and Lithography Co. in New York. Similar graphic designs using the "V" and "INVEST" were also produced as smaller decals and stickers for automobiles.

Historical Impact
These campaigns were highly successful; the Victory Liberty Loan alone attracted over 11 million subscribers. Beyond raising funds, these posters played a major role in introducing the concept of financial investment and patriotic duty to many American citizens for the first time.
