About the Artwork
The piece depicts a group of Native American warriors on horseback. The original work is a tempera paint on paper and is currently held in the collection of the Denver Art Museum. It was gifted to the museum by W.B. "Dub" and Maxine Blankenship.
About the Artist
John Young-Hunter (1874–1955) was a Scottish-born American painter known for his Western and Native American subjects. He attended Clifton College and the University of London before moving to the United States and settling in New Mexico.
