Nata Ahajanien (3 woman)
22.5 x 16 inches. Object appears to be a print that was embellished by hand and subsequently varnished. The object appears to have been exposed to high levels of humidity which has caused the paper to display planar distortion.

Procedures

Photographed recto and verso in frame. removed from frame, dehinged the art (pressure sensitive tape was used by the framer to attach the art to the matt. I then photographed recto and verso outside of frame. Object was examined using tactile and visual means including magnification and blacklight.

Conclusion

In order to flatten the object, it would require humidification to relax the paper, this will also cause the paper to expand and could result in fracturing of the varnish layer.
