Tomorrow in Tomorrow
British Quad 1970 British science fiction musical film
Toomorrow, which notably features a 21-year-old Olivia Newton-John in one of her earliest screen roles. Created by music mogul Don Kirshner (of The Monkees fame) and James Bond producer Harry Saltzman, the project was intended to launch a real-life pop group of the same name into stardom.
Movie Synopsis
The plot follows a group of students who form a pop band called Toomorrow to pay for their education. Their music—specifically the "sonic vibrations" from a unique instrument called a "tonaliser"—attracts the attention of dying aliens from the planet Alpha. Believing these vibrations are necessary for their race to survive, the aliens kidnap the band and take them to their spaceship to perform.
