Plot Summary
The story follows a group of wayward youths who idolize a local gangster who was sentenced to death row. A sympathetic police officer, Sgt. Frank Conroy, attempts to steer them away from a life of crime by enrolling them in recreational programs and helping them find legitimate jobs. Tensions rise when the boys discover that Conroy was the officer responsible for arresting the gangster they admired.
