Motor Comptoir Zurich 1932
Attraction size, Motor Comptoir Zürich 1932
is a vintage exhibition poster by the Swiss artist Otto Baumberger. The poster was created for an auto car and motorcycle show held at the Autohalle in Letzigraben, Zurich, in March 1932.
Otto Baumberger (1889-1961) was a noted Swiss painter and poster artist who is considered one of the first Swiss graphic artists to work as a professional poster designer. He created more than 200 posters throughout his career, often using a versatile style that ranged from cubist and abstract to realistic. His work is known for its synthesis of image and lettering.
The poster depicts a silhouette of a car, a motorcycle, and an airplane in a simple, elegant style using only two colors. This design is an example of the "Sachplakat" or "object poster" movement, which was characterized by large, single images of products on blank backgrounds.
