20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Disneyland ride Attraction, This image is a reproduction of a vintage Disneyland attraction poster for the "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Exhibit" in Tomorrowland.
The walkthrough attraction, based on the 1954 Disney film, was one of the original features of Disneyland when it opened in 1955.
The exhibit was created because Tomorrowland was under-developed at the park's opening, and Walt Disney decided to use sets and props from the popular movie to fill the space. Guests could walk through various rooms of the Nautilus submarine, including the salon with Captain Nemo's organ, which was the actual prop used in the film and now resides in the ballroom of the Haunted Mansion attraction. The exhibit was popular and remained in the park until 1966, when it was replaced by "Adventure Thru Inner Space".
