Etching by Rembrandt "
Jan Uytenbogaert, The Goldweigher" is an etching and drypoint artwork by Dutch artist Rembrandt van Rijn, created in 1639. The print depicts the Dutch tax collector Jan Uytenbogaert seated at a table with a scale, weighing gold.
The artwork has been sold at various auctions and is part of the collections of several museums, including the Brooklyn Museum and the Harvard Art Museums. Later impressions of the original etching were also printed by other artists, such as Captain William Baillie, using Rembrandt's original copper plate. The original copper plate is now held by the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
