Woody's Diner menu
Restaurant menu adhered to glass with ATG tape, Woody's Diner in Selbyville, Delaware, which is now known as Doyle's Restaurant. The placemat includes a map of the Delmarva Peninsula and three different "Thanksgiving Before Meals" prayers: Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish.
The original diner car, a factory-built "Silk City Diner" from Paterson, New Jersey, was brought to Selbyville in 1950 by owner Woody Sturgis. The site is a historically significant landmark where meetings were held by poultry workers in 1951, leading to the formation of the Eastern Shore Poultry Growers Exchange, which transformed the regional poultry industry.
The Doyle family purchased the business in 1983 and, while expanding the dining area, kept the historical integrity of the original diner car's interior largely intact.
