| All CONSERVATION and RESTORATION on this poster was performed by POSTER MOUNTAIN INC.
This poster was received in folded condition with lots of cellophane tape segments which had been applied many years previous, many of the fold lines were completely broken. We removed the tape and lost a bit of paper at the upper fold line cross section. Poster was washed in water and Orvus and linenbacked using easily reversible materials and adhesives.
RESTORATION included the addition of missing paper to fill in the holes, and light burnishing of the fold lines. Local airbrushing was used in spots on the border only, this was used to cover up tape stains and blend in patches, great care was exercised to minimize the use of airbrush only to the areas that could not be acceptably restored by another means. The remaining restoration was performed "by hand" using erasure, water-color, and colored pencil. |
