Original US one sheet 1946, Rita Hayworth, Glenn Ford
This poster had previously had some restoration, predominately in the fold lines. On the front it had unknown marking on upper right section. There was browning of the paper all over and staining across the lower "Hayworth". It had numerous tack holes around the corners. There was also a tear through the center of the dress.
On the back were numerous pieces of tape. Most of it was archival tape, which was found along the center fold and to the left. The piece of tape to the left of the center was helping to hold together the tear through the dress visible on the front. There was also scotch tape on the bottom center edge and top center fold lines. |
Poster was examined on a light table to clearly see previous restoration and tears. The tape was removed before washing. Details in her dress and the unusual marking in the upper left corner below "Gilda" were restored using water color pencils. |
