| Poster was previously linenbacked and restored by Joe Hernandez. Colors were very badly faded so client shipped it to us to re-color and possibly during shipping moisture entered the tube and caused significant water staining, mold and mildew primarily at the bottom. Poster Mountain then de-mounted it and re linen backed it. During this process we removed old additions and tried to remove old restoration. We did experience some paper loss during the process as a result of difficulties with the previous conservation adhesive. Most of this damage is in the margins. Missing/damaged paper was replaced using similar vintage stock, and colors were restored using significant airbrushing and water color touch up. |
