Examination using light table, black light and microscope. Digital photography and digital microscope photography. This poster as received was neither conserved nor restored by Poster Mountain. Upon viewing this report the client elected to have the poster re-mounted. This task was performed on 04/22/2010, the procedures went very smoothly and included stripping off old canvas and a layer of the white paper (a dry procedure), then soaking the poster and remaining paper for several minutes before removing the wet mounting paper with a teflon de-laminating tool, we left the previous adhesive intact and re-glued over it on the verso. Small amount of previous restoration was lost but most remained intact. Notably, the entire dot in the "i" in the name Rita was a perfectly round hole which had been previously patched. Poster Mountain then re-restored the poster using only water color and colored pencil to improve it's overall appearance. |
This Authentic US one sheet poster is in excellent condition with only minor instances of cosmetic restoration.
PREVIOUS CONDITION:
Light table shows that there is illegible writing on the reverse at center and in the area of all black. In the top right and left corners inside the black are small holes that have been filled. Very minor paper thinness/losses appear in the following areas: In the left border and bottom border, around the coat she is holding, inside her left arm and in her chin.
The three horizontal fold lines and all areas of minor damage have had touch ups done with watercolor.
Around the lettering of the top title text, all of the letters have been neatly outlined with what appears to be graphite pencil. |
