Poster Mountain procedures:
Digital photography, examination on a light table, under microscope and under black light. Documentation of findings. |
Condition with previous interventions/restoration:
Lobby card is in excellent condition and has undergone minor conservation and restoration.
The reverse is stamped with three (3) Steve Barkett Studio stamps, two (2) Borst Collection stamps, and in large cursive writing in pencil in the center “Werewolf of London Hobbsâ€.
On the light table this card shows a few pinholes in and around the top and bottom border, a very minor loss or thinness of the paper in the left and lower left border, and tiny mirroring small tears in the left and right borders at the center.
Blacklight shows that the border has been painted with airbrush, and the reverse has also been airbrushed in the corners and around the borders, possibly to conceal reinforcing tissue patches.
Very fine cosmetic restoration is visible in the top corners as well as at the top center, and in a few places throughout the imagery. This restoration was probably done in colored pencil or watercolor.
