KING KONG TITLE CARD
AUTHENTIC, LOBBY CARD. ***NOT RESTORED BY POSTER MOUNTAIN***
FRONT
VERSO
Here we see the edge of the lobby card under the microscope. On the right side of the image we see the layer of the original lobby card. On the left side of the image we see a long fibered Japanese paper used in the conservation. In the center we see a white layer of another conservation paper which the conservator has added for undetermined reasons.
Here an image from the lower left where the airbrushed border meets the authentic, unrestored printing. Both the paper and printing here are consistent with those of authentic period lobby cards.
Here a close up image of the "Q" in the word "UNIQUE". We see authentic, naked paper and original analog printing which are consistent with those of an original lobby card.
Here the lower right corner where the restored (painted) border meets the unrestored print. Both the paper and analog print are consistent with those of an original poster.
Here the upper circular graphic seen upper left center. This image shows the arc of that circle and both the yellow background and blue print within the circle. Both the paper and print here are consistent with those of an original lobby card.
A microscope image taken from one of Kong's molars here we see raw, unprinted, naked paper which is consistent with what we should see on an original poster.
As part of this authentication report we have "tagged" this poster on the back in the lower left corner. The tag has been printed on by silk screening and because of the nature of this printing process, no two tags are alike. The uniqueness of this tag is hereby cataloged in this report.

Procedures

Examination under black-light, microscope, light table, digital imaging and tactile observation. Documentation by John Davis of Poster Mountain Inc.

Conclusion

This is an authentic lobby card which has been backed with 2 layers of dissimilar paper. The borders, though complete have been painted purely for cosmetic reasons. There are tack holes in the top corners which have been repaired and a tear in the lower right corner which has been repaired. Overall this poster is in very good condition though moderately faded it looks very good. ***NOT RESTORED BY POSTER MOUNTAIN***
