THE MUMMY'S HAND halfsheet
US HALFSHEET, UNIVERSAL HORROR
FRONT
VERSO
Here we see the halfsheet edge-on under the microscope. we can see the layers. On the bottom is the paint layer comprised of airbrush paint. The middle layer is the modern paper, upon which the ink jet printing lies, and the top layer is from an original, vintage halfsheet of unknown title which has been pared down by sanding so as to make it about half it's normal thickness.
Here a shot of the "O" in Zucco. The paper color is clearly not natural, but rather printed to look like old paper. This is only visible under the microscope.
Here is a microscope image of the white of the man's eye at bottom left. Under high magnification the ink jet lines are clearly visible in an area that should be naked paper.
here we see a close up shot of the right hand border (top photo) where the airbrush paint has been removed, and a small pencil mark has been made. Though not visible even under a jewelers loupe, under the mocroscope the ink-jet lines which mimic the color of aged paper are clearly visible.
Here we see a close up shot of the "R" in the universal logo at bottom left/center. This should be naked paper color, but instead we can see that it has been printed to emulate the look of old paper.
Here we see the printers union logo under high magnification. The upper right side of the image we see airbrush paint as the logo had been masked prior to painting it is still visible underneath. We can again see the ink jet patters in the logo and in the paper color.
The bottom photo shows a close up of the "D" in "Hand" where I've removed the restorative airbrush paint, and again we see the ink-jet lines..
Here we see a close up of the naked paper color in the carnation on the man's suit at center/left. again we see the ink jet patterns that mimic the look of old paper.

Procedures

Examination under black-light, microscope, light table, digital imaging and tactile observation. Documentation by John Davis of Poster Mountain Inc.

Conclusion

THIS CARD WAS NOT PRODUCED BY POSTER MOUNTAIN INC. This is a reproduction of an authentic halfsheet made with a digital ink-jet printer. The poster was then folded and damaged intentionally. It was then linenbacked and restored. We have tagged this poster in the Universal logo. This is a reproduction of an original halfsheet style poster which has been painstakingly made to look, and feel like the original. It is a color copy which has been mounted to the paper from a real halfsheet (which has been sanded thin so as to better disguise the forgery) and a very significant amount of restorative media which is not uncommon on original halfsheets has been added to further increase this effect.
