THE WOLFMAN TITLE LOBBY CARD 2
FAKE #2 OF THIS TITLE, Claude Raines, warren William, Ralph Bellamy, Patric Knowles, Universal Horror, Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney. Maria Ouspenskaya
verso: The markings and writing here were made by PMCS as part of our effort to prevent this poster from being used fraudulently.
Here we see the edge of this poster under the microscope and the layers are obvious. Here there should be only one layer of paper consistent throughout, but instead we can see the much lighter layer of modern coated bond paper on top which is glued to the remains of an old, authentic lobby card which has been sanded thin so as to create the appearance of authenticity.
Here we see an image taken from the left border where I have removed some of the restorative-type paint to reveal the ink jet patterns underneath where there should be only naked paper.
An image of the right border where the added pigment has been removed to reveal the ink jet patterns
A close up of the UNIVERSAL logo which again reveals the ink jet printer patterns where there should only be naked paper color.
Here we see a close up of the Wolfman's right eye...Again we can clearly see the ink jet patterns which mimic the look of authentic paper.
Conclusion
THIS CARD WAS NOT PRODUCED BY POSTER MOUNTAIN INC. This is a reproduction of an authentic lobby card made with a digital ink-jet printer. This is a reproduction of an original poster which has been painstakingly made to look, and feel like the original. It is a color copy which has been mounted to the paper from a real lobby card (which has been sanded thin so as to better disguise the forgery) and a very significant amount of restorative media which is not uncommon on original lobby cards has been added to further increase this effect.Disclaimer
