THE MUMMY'S HAND title lobby card
FAKE, UNIVERSAL HORROR, Dick Foran, Peggy Moran, wallace ford, cecil kellaway, eduardo ciannelli, tom tyler
Front

Here we see the edge of the poster in cross section, highly magnified by the microscope. We can clearly see the layer of coated bond paper (on top) typically used for ink jet printing, and the layer at bottom which is the remains of an original lobby card which has been sanded thin so as to make the card appear authentic.
Here we see a microscope image of the carnation in the man's jacket. The microscope camera reverses the image. We can clearly see ink jet patterns laid down by a standard 4 color process modern ink jet printer which mimic the appearance of naked paper color.
Here we see an image taken from the bottom border. I've removed the airbrush paint to expose the ink jet dots underneath, also I've made 2 tiny pencil marks so as to assist in visually establishing the location of the photo.
Here we see an image taken from the "E" in "PICTURE" at bottom center. The microscope camera reverses the image. We can clearly see ink jet printer dots in what should be naked paper color.
Here we see the woman's foot near the "M" in MUMMY'S" highly magnified. Again we clearly see ink jet printer patterns.
Here we see an image of the knife (top of the image) and the man's yellow jacket (bottom) on the right side of the card. Again we see 4 color ink jet printer patterns.
Here a shot of the Mummy's eye, and again we see the patterns laid down by the ink jet printer.
Here a shot of the Universal Logo (the camera reverses the image) and where there should be naked paper color, we see ink jet dots which mimic the appearance of old paper.

Conclusion

THIS CARD WAS NOT PRODUCED BY POSTER MOUNTAIN INC. This is a reproduction of an authentic lobby card made with a digital ink-jet printer. This is a reproduction of an original poster which has been painstakingly made to look, and feel like the original. It is a color copy which has been mounted to the paper from a real lobby card (which has been sanded thin so as to better disguise the forgery) and a very significant amount of restorative media which is not uncommon on original lobby cards has been added to further increase this effect.
