is a 1939 American comedy film starring W.C. Fields, Edgar Bergen, and Charlie McCarthy. W.C. Fields also wrote the story for the film under the pseudonym Charles Bogle.
The plot centers on Larson E. Whipsnade (Fields), a debt-ridden circus owner constantly on the run from creditors and the law. His daughter, Victoria, falls in love with ventriloquist "The Great Edgar" (Bergen) but considers marrying a wealthy man to help her father's financial situation.
