Plot Summary
Sailor Johnny Webster (Eddie Bracken) is on shore leave and has told his friends that his father is a major Hollywood executive. In reality, his father (Victor Moore) is just a gate guard. A studio switchboard operator, Polly Judson (Betty Hutton), helps the father maintain the charade, which leads to comedic situations and eventually a star-studded show put on for the Navy personnel featuring nearly every star on the Paramount roster.
