SON OF FRANKENSTEIN
FAKE
Here we see a microscope image taken of the edge of the poster. I sliced a sliver of paper off in order to get a clean view. We can clearly see the 2 layers of dissimilar papers here. The bottom layer is the remains of an authentic lobby card of lesser value and the top layer is modern coated bond paper.
Here's a microscope image taken from Dr. Frankenstein's forehead as it appears on the left-center portion of the poster. Here we can see the patterns created by an ink jet printer. The black spots were added by the restorer.
Here we see a microscope image taken from the highlight in the glass device that appears above the monsters head. The black spots were added by the restorer, but we can still see the ink jet patterns underneath.
Here is an image taken from the green background within the graphic design seen on the left side of the poster between the silhouette head and hand. Though this image is not very sharp, we can still make out the ink jet patterns.
Here is an image taken from the "O" in "SON" as it appears in the title. The top-most layer of yellow is restorative type paint which has been expertly added but underneath in this area we can see the patterns of red and blue dots that were created by an ink jet printer.
Here a close up of the "U" in USA as it appears at the bottom right margin in the fine print. The lobby card was upside down when I photographed it and the camera reverses the image. The top-most layer we see is airbrush paint expertly applied, and underneath in the original "paper-color" we can clearly see the ink jet patterns which mimic the appearance of old paper.

Conclusion

THIS CARD WAS NOT PRODUCED BY POSTER MOUNTAIN INC. This is a reproduction of an authentic lobby card made with a digital ink-jet printer. This is a reproduction of an original poster which has been painstakingly made to look, and feel like the original. It is a color copy which has been mounted to the paper from a real lobby card (which has been sanded thin so as to better disguise the forgery) and a very significant amount of restorative media which is not uncommon on original lobby cards has been added to further increase this effect.
