DRACULA WINDOW CARD
FAKE, UNIVERSAL HORROR, BELA LUGOSI, WINDOW CARD
Here we see the layers of the conservation backing comprised of 3 layers of masa paper(in the center) and one layer of okawara paper (facing the top right corner of the image). The object is at the bottom edge facing the lower left corner of the image. the object layer in this image appears to be genuine old paper. This window card was treated conservatorially twice by two different parties. The second treatment was performed by Poster Mountain and at that time borders were added using authentic old paper.
Here we see a close up of the "O" in "Golden" At bottom right, in the border. We can see two distict layers of restorative airbrush paint , the lower layer was added by the previous restorer, the top layer was added by Poster Mountain.. The print in the letter "O" seen here in high magnification was made by a high resolution ink-jet type printer.
Here we see the red in the letter "D" in the title Dracula under high magnification. This is unretouched color and we can see the patterns of the ink-jet printing.
Here the flesh tone in the woman's face under high magnification, once again we see the ink jet printing.
Here we see a highly magnified image of the woman's right eye and the lines of the inkjet patterns are clear in what should be naked paper color.

Conclusion

THIS CARD WAS NOT PRODUCED BY POSTER MOUNTAIN INC. This is a reproduction of an authentic window card made with a digital ink-jet printer. This is a reproduction of an original window card. The previous construction of the window card was such that an ink jet copy paper was sanded very thin, and glued to an original authentic old window card backing. Poster Mountain was then contracted to put a new backing on it, and freshen up the restoration.
