L'Ete Miro
Fine Art L'été (Summer)
is an original lithograph with stencil in colors by the Spanish artist Joan Miró, created in 1938. The work was printed by Mourlot and published in Paris by Tériade for the art revue Verve (volume 1, number 3). Miró was one of four artists commissioned to create a composition on the four seasons, with his work representing "Summer".
Context of the Artwork
This lithograph was created during the Spanish Civil War. Despite its title, sources suggest the piece is not an idyllic scene but reflects the pain and aggression of the time. The artwork is a part of Miró's "wild oeuvre," a body of work created during this period that was also influenced by Surrealism and his Catalan identity.
