ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN LOBBY CARD
FAKE, UNIVERSAL HORROR, COMEDY, BORIS KARLOFF, ABBOTT AND COSTELLO
Here we see the object , edge-on under a microscope after I've cut a small sliver off the edge to expose the clean papers underneath. In this image we can clearly see the layers comprised of modern ink-jet copy paper on the bottom of the image, and original, vintage lobby card paper on the top of the image.
Here we see a close up of Costello's left eye which has been marked in pencil directly on the object at the location of the image. Here we see the ink jet printing patterns that mimic the appearance of what should be naked paper in the white of the eye.
Here we see a close up of the "O" in Costello (The microscope camera reverses the image) and in both the yellow background and the red letter we can clearly see the ink jet patterns.
Here a close up of the "D" in Dracula in the credits section at lower left. Again we see the ink jet pattern and the way that the modern printing mimics the look of old paper.
Here is a shot from the left border where I've removed the restorative media which obscured the true nature of the card. Here again the ink jet patterns are visible.
Here is a shot in the staircase near the center of the poster and once again we see the ink jet patterns here.
Conclusion
THIS CARD WAS NOT PRODUCED BY POSTER MOUNTAIN INC. This is a reproduction of an authentic lobby card made with a digital ink-jet printer. This is a reproduction of an original poster which has been painstakingly made to look, and feel like the original. It is a color copy which has been mounted to the paper from a real lobby card (which has been sanded thin so as to better disguise the forgery) and a very significant amount of restorative media which is not uncommon on original lobby cards has been added to further increase this effect.Disclaimer
