FRANKENSTEIN R47
FAKE THIS IS THE SECOND EXAMPLE OF THIS FAKE THAT WE'VE UNCOVERED. Just like the first known example of this, the ink jet copy was intentionally folded and lightly damaged in order to intensify the appearance of authenticity. However it is 100% fake.
Here a microscope image taken from the "A" IN "RELEASE" as it appears in the bottom right corner of the poster. We can clearly see the patterns created by a modern ink jet printer when compared to an authentic analog print of similar vintage.
Here a microscope image taken from the area of the DOCTOR'S SLEEVE as it appears on the lower left above the lantern. Again, we clearly see the ink jet patterns created by modern printing technology.
Here we see a microscope image taken from the center-bottom border where we see a shot of part of the word "EXHIBITION". The top layer is airbrush paint which was applied in an effort to better disguise the true nature of the poster. Underneath, around the letters we should see naked, fibrous paper, but instead we see ink jet patterns which mimic the look of old paper
Here a microscope image taken from the monster's left eye. Under the powerful magnification we can clearly see the ink jet patterns where only naked, unprinted paper should be.
Here a microscope image taken from the R IN KARLOFF where the red background meets what should be naked, unprinted paper, again, instead we see the patterns created by a modern ink jet printer
Here an extreme close up of the first "E" in "FRANKENSTEIN at the bottom of the letter right at the fold line. I've made a tiny pencil dot here to describe the location of the photo. We see the fold line flanked on both sides by what should be naked, fibrous paper with no printing at all. Instead we can clearly see the yellow, red and blue dots that were created by a modern printer and mimic the look of old paper.

Procedures

Examination under black-light, microscope, light table, digital imaging and tactile observation. Documentation by John Davis of Poster Mountain Inc.

Conclusion

THIS POSTER WAS NOT PRODUCED BY POSTER MOUNTAIN INC. This is a reproduction of an authentic one sheet made with a digital ink-jet printer. The poster was then folded and damaged intentionally. It was then linenbacked and restored. We have tagged this poster in the Universal logo.Ink jet color copy intentionally folded, a fake theater poster exchange type stamp was added on the back (it reads: PLEASE RETURN TO LOBBY DISPLAYS INCORPORATED) and the poster was mounted to canvas and paper ("linen-backed") then restored as though it was an original poster. Borders were airbrushed, fold lines were touched up with colored pencil. Great, expert effort was taken in a clear attempt to make this fake poster appear authentic. There are 2 known copies of this poster.
